Have you ever wanted to walk on the wild side? Now is your chance! Enjoy magnificent views from our TreeTop Canopy Trail, which is suspended 35 feet above the ground, and linked to three platforms surrounding magnificent oaks, hickories, and sweet gum trees. Our 30-minute guided tour offers viewers a chance to observe wetlands, songbirds, vultures, eagles, deer, wood ducks, diverse flora, and other creatures native to our region. In the wintertime, you may even catch a glimpse of Alabama! Binocular rental included.

Scheduling Tours

Saturday Tours

The TreeTop Canopy Trail is open for tours only. Patrons are not allowed on the trail without a tour guide.

Saturday Canopy Trail Tours

  • Can be scheduled from the hours of 11am-5pm
  • Require a minimum of 24-hours reservation request
  • Spaces and times are limited and up to the discretion of OMELC staff
  • Mimimum group size is 2
  • Maximum group size is 10
  • OMELC staff may combine small groups into a single tour time.

Weekday Tours

The TreeTop Canopy Trail is open for tours only. Patrons are not allowed on the trail without a tour guide.

Weekday, Tuesday – Friday Canopy Tours

  • Can be scheduled from the hours of 10am-3pm
  • Require a minimum of 2-weeks reservation request
  • Spaces and times are limited and up to the discretion of OMELC staff
  • Mimimum group size is 5
  • Maximum group size is 10
  • OMELC staff may combine small groups into a single tour time.

Important Information

Admission: $5 per person for a 30-minute guided tour. Binocular rental included.

Restrictions: Children must be 4 feet tall OR 12 years of age.

Group size: Groups are limited to 12 participants per tour.  If you would like to schedule a Canopy Tour for more than 12 participants, please call (706)507-8550.

Required Documents: TreeTopTrail_waiver (PDF) to download the TreeTop Canopy Trail waiver form. Please bring this form with you on the day of your tour.

Required Clothing: Closed-toed shoes must be worn at all times while on the TreeTop Canopy Trail! Those wearing sandals, flip-flops, etc. will not be allowed on the trail.
